Anticipation strategy

A design vision and sizzle reel for our 2026 product strategy

Pinterest is great at serving the interests people already have. The bigger opportunity is helping Pinners discover new ones with the same level of personalization, a focus for 2026. I partnered with product to define what that could look like, and created this sizzle reel to bring the strategy to life at board meetings and company all-hands.

Reels like this usually go to an external agency, at significant cost and time. Instead, we used AI to create Jess, our key persona, and tell her story, moving faster while building real excitement for the 2026 strategy. The reel became a reference point teams keep coming back to, and we’re now delivering against the strategy, with multiple workstreams complete.

Global nav redesign

Simplifying our primary nav to focus on critical Pinner journeys

In June 2026, we shipped a redesigned global navigation that makes Pinners’ most common journeys (discovering, searching, and revisiting) simpler to reach, with secondary actions moved into a separate menu. It also lays the groundwork for strategic initiatives like agentic search, with a more dynamic navigation model aligned with iOS 27 patterns.

I set the vision, made the case for prioritizing the work, and led the design team through launch. Navigation touches almost every team at Pinterest, so a big part of the job was building alignment across many stakeholders with competing priorities.

Countdown to New Releases

Turning release-day anticipation into day-one listening

Countdown Pages give artists a dedicated space to build anticipation for a new album. Fans can watch exclusive clips, pre-save the release, preview the track list, and watch the timer count down to release. Anyone who pre-saves gets a notification the moment the album drops, and it’s added to their library automatically, so more fans start streaming on day one.

As design manager and lead, I owned the Countdown Page experience and how it was distributed across Spotify’s entry points. Over my tenure, we scaled it from MVP, continuously improving the experience and adding features that helped artists earn beyond streaming, through concert tickets and merch.

Impact

  • 80%pre-savers streaming in week one

Artist Profiles

Reimagining the profile IA for deeper artist–fan connections

Millions of fans visit artist profiles on Spotify every day, and 90% of them interact with the page in some way, making it one of the most valuable surfaces for artist–fan connection. I led the design team through a redesign of the profile’s information architecture and a new tabbed structure that organizes music, concerts, merch, and more. The result helps fans discover everything an artist has to offer, while giving artists more ways to earn from their fanbase through merch and ticket sales.

Impact

  • 70%lift in concert engagement from the new Events tab
  • 15%increase in concert ticket sales

Audiobooks in Premium

Launching audiobooks as part of Spotify Premium

In October 2023, Spotify made more than 150,000 audiobooks part of Premium, bringing a whole new format into an app built around music and podcasts. Premium subscribers get 15 hours of listening each month to use across as many titles as they like.

As with Countdown Pages, my team led the end-to-end audiobook experience and evolved it from MVP, introducing features like Page Match (which syncs your place between a physical book and its audiobook), summaries and clips, book series, and author pages.

Impact

  • 30%+year-over-year growth in audiobook listeners
